Meet the team

Springwood Grange is a professional and friendly livery and competition yard run by husband and wife team Jane and Jason Foster. They took over the premises in December 2011, catering for a range of clients from those competing at the nationals to happy hackers.

Jason is the life and soul of the yard. By trade a landscape gardener, he is responsible for the management and maintenance of the yard, as well as being roped in to help with the horses.

Kirsty Caister works at the yard on a freelance basis. She breeds, produces and rides hacks and riding horses, regularly qualifying for Horse of the Year show and the Royal International. In 2012 she won the Equifest large hack class with Herbie (Time Out), going on take the hack championship. They also headed the HOYS qualifier at Ashbourne show, where they stood reserve champions.

Kirsty is especially talented with youngsters and problem horses, assisting Jane with breaking and reschooling programmes.

About Jane

As a young rider, Jane competed to advanced level in eventing, qualifying for Bramham and being in contention for young rider selection. This background led to her working as head girl for Penny Lawn in Image 1Yorkshire for five years, where she continued to compete as well as helping to produce horses up to CCI four star level.

Jane's passion turned to dressage, and she moved on to a head girl position at a dressage yard before deciding to set up on her own.

This background has provided Jane with extensive experience in breaking and producing horses for all disciplines. She has as also worked with retraining older, problem horses and race horses.

Jane is competing at Advanced Medium and training towards PSG with her 15-year-old Hanoverian mare Flo (Florenza). She currently trains with International Grand Prix dressage rider Nicola Buchannan. In their first season together, Jane and Flo finished in the top ten at the regionals.

When teaching, Jane helps riders establish a firm foundation in the basics and develop feel. She is equally at home teaching people who wish to progress to the advanced levels of dressage as jumpers who want to improve their flatwork or technique over a fence. Jane will happily ride your horse and horses can be taken for schooling. See out livery page for further details.

Lessons with Jane are available at £35per hour (£25 for liveries).
